In the book of life, some characters are present for only a short time, but their memories last a lifetime. The fragrance of some relationships lingers around us, wrapped in a special, delightful flavor in our memories. School friends and every moment spent with them are very special in everyone's life. This is a beautiful chapter of my life that I still want to relive today. I don't know when the boy sitting next to me became so special that I started looking for him every day. I never saw him talking much to anyone; he was always lost in his own world, as if he didn't care that a world was going on around him. I often saw him during lunchtime with a black music player in his hand, earphones in his ears, listening to music, and I always saw him eating lunch like that. Perhaps those songs were his favorites or a part of his memories. The aroma coming from his lunchbox always drew me towards him. Time was passing, and I just wanted to be friends with him. One day, before going to school, I decided that I would go and talk to him, but that day I found out that he had changed schools. After he left, sadness overwhelmed me, and all I remembered was the peace on his face while listening to music and the aroma of his lunchbox. I am still unaware of that fragrance today, but it is a part of my beautiful memory. After completing my college studies, I now want to live my life, so I haven't thought about a job yet, or perhaps there is a hope within me to complete my search – the search for the fragrance coming from that lunchbox...!!! I was going to different restaurants, meeting chefs, and talking about food – that's all I've been doing lately. I didn't know why I was doing this. Maybe I was looking for that special person from my childhood. I decided that I would make this search my work, and that's how I started working as a food reviewer. My job required me to travel abroad, which was a new experience for me. I was nervous, but everything felt easier with my team by my side. I had embarked on a journey in both my work and my life. While having dinner with my team, my eyes fell on a man sitting near the window. He was wearing a black hoodie and jeans, holding a music player in his hands, and had earphones in his ears. Seeing him reminded me of a quest from my childhood. I couldn't take my eyes off him. He was eating from a lunchbox in the city's most expensive restaurant. I couldn't understand whether it was his simplicity or something else entirely.Later, I found out that the man was the head chef of that restaurant. For some reason, I saw a glimpse of that boy from my childhood in him, or maybe I was just overthinking. For the first time today, I was nervous about my work because my next meeting was with that same head chef... I was lost in my thoughts and questions, and in the midst of all this, I had a long conversation with him. When I finished my work and was about to leave, he asked me why I used to stare at him so much in school. I stopped dead in my tracks at that question. I just stood there silently and then smiled, saying, "It's you." After finishing work, we went to a park near the restaurant and talked for hours. And today I learned that the aroma that used to come from that lunchbox was actually from his mother's handmade pickles and food. He told me that he wasn't initially prepared for the interview, but when he found out that I was coming, he immediately agreed. Hearing his words, I became even more confused. Then he told me that he wanted to talk to me before he changed schools, but he couldn't find me. After finishing college, he got some information about me from some of my old friends from that school. I was just silently listening to him; the answers to my questions were only confusing me more. And then I finally asked him why he noticed me. He replied, "You were staring at me so much that I couldn't help but notice you." After giving this answer, he started laughing. He took out his music player and put in one earphone. I was just silently watching him. Then he put the other earphone in my ear and told me that he always listens to these songs; these are his mother's favorite songs... Today I realized that a music playlist and the aroma of food can also be a way to connect with someone. It was one of the most beautiful nights of my life, where even after the sun had set, it felt like a new dawn was breaking.....!!
